Hi, I’m Kate Bergman, a UESCA-certified run coach, lifelong encourager and firm believer that every runner deserves a training plan that fits their life.
I work with real people who want to run stronger, go farther, and feel proud of every mile. My coaching is designed for beginners aiming for half and full marathons — with personalized support, injury-smart training plans, and a big dose of motivation.
You don’t need to be fast. You don’t need to be fearless.
You just need a plan—and a coach who gets it.
Hiring a running coach can offer numerous benefits, especially if you're looking improve performance, train for a specific event or simply enhance their overall running experience.
1. Personalized training plans: With a personalized training plan I can help you progress more efficiently than following a generic plan that you find online.
2. Minimize risk of injury: As a coach, I can help with proper running form, technique and training load management to help minimize the risk of injury
3. Expertise and experience: As a nerd and student of the sport, I bring a wealth of knowledge about running, including nutrition, hydration, race strategies and gear. Since 2012, I've run 15 half marathons and six marathons, along with various shorter distance races.
4. Mental strategies: Running is more than just physical; it also involves mental preparation, something I was challenged with as a new runner. I can help you overcome mental barriers, set realistic goals and stay positive - all of which are crucial for success in training and racing.
5. Motivation and accountability: Having a coach provides a source of motivation and accountability, which is invaluable for staying committed to your training, especially on those days when the last thing you want to do is go for a run.
6. Performance improvement: I can help identify and target areas for improvement, such as speed, endurance or running economy. Specific workouts will be assigned to help break through plateaus and achieve personal bests.
I am certified as a Running Coach by the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy (UESCA), which means I have a deep understanding of endurance sports training, principles and practices. The certification program includes a rigorous education that covers a broad spectrum of topics including physiology, biomechanics, sports nutrition, training plan development and injury prevention. This comprehensive approach means I am well-equipped to give holistic training advice.

Everyone's running journey is unique, therefore everyone's training plan should be unique.
Change is the only constant in our lives. That's why I communicate with runners several times a week. Staying informed on how the weeks is going for my athletes helps me adapt their plan for the next week.
