Hi, I’m Kate Bergman, a UESCA-certified running coach, lifelong encourager, and late-blooming runner who knows what it’s like to start from scratch.
I didn’t grow up as a runner. In fact, I used to get so anxious before the one-mile time trial in high school PE that I’d feel sick. But in 2012, something shifted. I laced up a pair of walking shoes, ran two miles, and—for reasons I still don’t fully understand—signed up for a half marathon that same day. Three months later, I crossed the finish line in Half Moon Bay, CA. I was hooked.
Since then, I’ve run 8 marathons and 18 half marathons, and I’ve had the privilege of pacing races to help others reach their goals.
I’ve also learned a lot the hard way—like what happens when you don’t fuel properly, train smart, or give your body enough rest.
That’s why I started Pace Perfect Running. My coaching is built for real people with big goals—especially beginner runners aiming for half and full marathons. I’m here to help you train confidently, avoid common pitfalls, and cross your finish line proud.
